BOB PHILLIPS PREACHING ENGAGEMENTS
Due to the growth of
WORLDMISSION, it’s spreading influence in Reformed circles and the
opening of the WORLDMISSION THEOLOGICAL CENTRE in Belize Bob has decided
to begin taking more preaching engagements. He will now be available to
preach in preaching conferences, mission conferences, one or two night
meetings and evangelistic meetings, etc. He feels at home in this type
of environment because of the years he preached as a Southern Baptist
Evangelist. He realizes that his theology and methodology will be
different since he is now Reformed in his theology. He also is aware
that some of the greatest evangelistic preachers who ever lived were
also of that theological persuasion, Charles H. Spurgeon, George
Whitfield and Jonathan Edwards to name a few. There will be no high
pressure techniques, no decisional regeneration, no “walk the isle
regeneration,” no preaching for numbers, but a recognition that a sinner
can have no part in his own salvation. Salvation will be all of God,
from start to finish!
If you would also like to
give Bob an opportunity to come and share the ministry in Belize he is
now available to come. If you are planning a Missions Conference and
would enjoy having our ministry presented to your church he would be
pleased to be a part of that. For this type presentation he could
preach, give a power point presentation or show a video of the work.
WORLDMISSION is also
beginning to organize conferences around the country and in other
countries. Our last conference was in Belize in June. If you would like
to host a WORLDMISSION CONFERENCE we will come and help you arrange it,
help you recruit local pastors to participate and arrange for outside
speakers if you like. All we would ask is that Bob be on the program and
that we could share our ministry in a low key, respectable manner. You
can host the conference in your church, or you can hold it in several
churches or secure a neutral site. We Reformed Brothers need to bond
together, stand back to back with each other, encourage one another,
protect each other, lift up our brothers in prayer and love each other
in Christ. Please pray about using Bob in your church and if you feel
led of the Lord to use him contact us.

JOHN 17:
2 CONFERENCE (REVIVAL OF ORTHODOXY)
Recently at the First Baptist
Church, Jacksonville, Florida, a conference was held. The title of the
conference was THE JOHN 3: 16 CONFERENCE. Its apparent goal was to voice
its opposition to Calvinism, a “spoof of Calvinism,” if you will.
Perhaps the verse in question, John 3: 16 was supposed to debunk the
Protestant Orthodoxy that came out of the Protestant Reformation. From
what we have heard and judging from observations of many who attended
there was a lot of generalizations, inaccurate presentations of the
doctrines that were being preached upon and misrepresentations of the
Doctrines of Grace. Those who really understand what is really taught in
Reformed Theology were disappointed in the lack of exegetical arguments
put forth by the speakers. There was not nearly enough honest dealing
with doctrines and scriptures to exegete them adequately. We fear many
left the conference with a misrepresented idea of these precious
doctrines. All we ask for is an honest and informed presentation of the
doctrines we hold dear.
Therefore, WORLDMISSION held
its own conference at the First Baptist Church, Marydel, Maryland. There
was no axe to grind. There was no debate or argument with the conference
in Jacksonville. There was no mention made of any sermons at that
conference or any mention of any of their preachers. The purpose of our
conference was simply to make an adequate presentation of The Doctrines
of Grace through the preaching of God’s Word and accurate exegetious of
the Scriptures. We wanted to lift each other up and encourage others who
believe as we do around the country. We wanted people to hear the true
interpretations of our theology, not an “old wives tale,” or worse
still, deliberate distortions of what we believe by intellectual
dishonesty.
Our preachers spoke on
several doctrines of the scriptures, on the role of missions and
emphasis of missions (in particular Foreign Missions) in Reformed
Theology and the role of God Centered, responsible Evangelism that flows
forth from Reformed Theology. We had preachers from five states, plus
Trinidad to preach. The conference lasted six days, including Sunday. We
had a baptismal service one night during the week. It was an opportunity
to preach the Gospel clearly, to articulate the Doctrines of Grace (not
what people think they might teach, or what they would like for them to
teach), explaining what they actually, in reality teach, to glorify God
and lift up Jesus.
We have made available C D’s
of the conference sermons. They are available for purchase on the
following page. They are listed by sermon topic and speaker. There is
also a space to send the entire series to a friend. The entire
conference will be shipped to you in attractive C D cases for a gift to
the ministry. All gifts will go directly to the WORLMISSION ministry
account. We suggest a gift of $30.00, or more if you wish. All gifts are
tax deductible.

ASHLEY ROCKE’S VISIT
In
April Bob travelled to Belize for 10 days. He first met with Dr Bob Coye,
a Belizian Medical Doctor who lives and works in Little Rock, Arkansas,
Pastor Ruperto Vincente, Pastor of Galilee Baptist in Belize City and
Pastor Ashley Rocke, Pastor of Lake Independence Baptist in Belize City.
Pastor Rocke is the President of the Belize Baptist Association which
has a membership of 59 Baptist Churches. Bob had met Ashley earlier this
year and formed a warm friendship. In their meeting Pastor Rocke invited
WORLDMISSION to come to Belize and sponsor a Bible Conference in June,
2009, next month. There has been and still was in that meeting s sense
of urgency concerning WORLDMISSION’S involvement in Belize.
We
invited Pastor Rocke to come to Maryland and spend 10 days with us,
which he did in May. He preached and ministered to our folks. We took
him to meet with several Reformed Baptist Pastor’s during his visit to
share with them our involvement in Belize and details of the current
situation. The next page of this newsletter will explain this situation.

BELIZE CITY BIBLE CONFERENCE
Continuing from above, as a result of our meeting in April, WORLDMISSION
sponsored the BELIZE CITY BIBLE CONFERENCE June 14-21, 2009. The theme
was A STUDY OF ROMANS. Ramzan Hosein, President of TRINIDAD &
TOBAGO BIBLE COLLEGE, preached on Romans, chapter’s 1-7, Bob
Phillips, President of WORLDMISSION, preached on chapter’s 8-12
and Leland Browder, President of MISSIONS UNLIMITED, preached on Churchmanship, Uniting Baptist’s of Belize. Pastor Rocke invited
every Baptist Church in Belize to attend the conference.
We feel
it is imperative to share with you the current spiritual situation in
Belize so that our Reformed friends around the world can join us in
prayer about this matter. God has placed WORLDMISSION into a very
strategic position and it is very exciting to us. At the same time, it
is very challenging. The opportunity He has provided for us will
probably involve Spiritual Warfare to the degree that God so chooses.
First of all God has given us an unparalleled opportunity to present the
Doctrines of Grace (via teaching Romans) to all the Baptist Churches who
come to the conference. Pray that God will give us wisdom to wisely
present the truth to churches which have no idea what Reformed Theology
is. The only Reformed Witness in Belize is a couple of Presbyterian
Churches in the north of the country.
